With a strong focus on natural fibers the range is diverse, including not only a great selection of quality basics like Japanese cotton shirtings, silk chiffons, satins and georgettes, woolen suitings and coatings and linens, and also specialty pieces like New Zealand merino knits, leather hides, eco and organic fabrics and much more.

Price range is a general indication only, some specialty items will sit outside of these prices.

About Global Fabrics

Global Fabrics has long been a destination for anyone looking for top quality designer dress fabrics. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff are always happy to offer expert advice to help you make the right fabric choice. Our fabrics are sourced from both local and international designers, with lots of small runs and sample lengths. This means our stock is constantly changing.

We also provide a basic range of haberdashery items and accessories.

We welcome mail order and sample enquiries if you don’t live locally to one of our stores. We are able to deliver our fabrics by courier anywhere in New Zealand at a very reasonable rate. Please phone your nearest store for assistance.

Christchurch Store Closed Until Further Notice.

Our prayers thoughts and sorrow are with all who have been impacted by the devastating earthquake in Christchurch on Feb 22nd.

We are relieved that our much loved staff from our Tuam St store are unharmed, and thankfully no customers were in store at the time the quake struck. We have had a flood of touching enquiries after the girls welfare, and also the future of Global Fabrics in Christchurch.

Our Tuam St premises has been damaged badly and unfortunately we will not be able to trade in that location again. We want the people of Christchurch to be assured that Global Fabrics is committed to be a part of the rebuilding of the Christchurch city/community, and as soon as the circumstances allow we will reopen in a new location.

In the meantime, all calls and emails are being diverted to our Wellington store (we have extra staff on) so you can use the existing contact details from the Christchurch store and it will connect, or alternatively call on 04 801 8887. Please note, there is only one phone line, so leave a message if you are finding it hard to get through.
